Iceland Airwaves
It's fresh and cold but it's not a gum to chew. The Airwaves here is an annual music festival in Reykjavik, Iceland since 1999. With the population as small as 304,334, the 5 days festival has amazingly more than 200 music events from 18 Oct. to 21 Oct. '06. The artists are mainly Icelandic and they perform at 15 different clubs, bar and even in the museum. If you like Bjork, mum, ampop... this festival is the best opportunity to discover the new sound from this purist country far far away. Airwaves

Stay healthy - TV hosts!!
First we lost Steve Irwin, someone we love to watch on National Geography Channel. Now we're sad to hear our favorite crazy Top Gear and Brainiac host Richard Hammond is seriously injured. Sure they were doing exactly what they love, but who doesn't want to be healthy and to spend more time possible with love ones.
Click Steve's picture to memorial soundboard.
Fancy to work as MI5 agent?

Maximilian Hecker - Bunny video
Just realized that the album's release date 22nd September is nothing to do with where I'm now and don't think either I will wait till US release date with imported price. Since I'm relying on the "I want it now and I'll get it now" attitude we called the internet and iTune virtual world. To purchase a hard copy of a media product yet available on iTune(available now) is really rare moment in my life. But... did I ever said that German is a difficult language to learn even you constantly watching Arte? Since my 7 languages portable translator (my husband) is not around. After the Hitchhiker's Babel Fish's help, I got the Amazon.de abschicken(german) = abs+chicken = send(english) me a purchase confirmation email. What a relive.
While waiting for the Virgin Mountain album ship to Paris before I head back to NY. Here you can link to the Bunny video:
Quick Time; Windows Media
I found the video interesting and should watch it at least twice to be able to appreciate the song cause the silly 70's running man just remind me the crazy Asian girl in Devo's "Whip it" video (scariest video in the entire human history), which I guess I'll need to turn on the Arte's sheep image to erase it before I able to go to sleep. So do watch the video with caution. Song is lovely and a bit funky for a surprise. Ride on.
This is for Steve Jobs and iTune engineers: I'm still waiting for the Prison Break episode 5!!

Steve Jobs' new toys
How can you not love the world of this man?!!
Every time the new Apple products released, I tell myself to be patient and wait to buy the 2nd generation, but very often I ended up to purchase them anyway. Actually I have my own idealized Apple products, and I can tell you that Steve Jobs is making them a little closer year by year. And hopefully I can live long enough to see all my imaginary products come true. Right forgot Jobs is much older than me.
Regardless the better and cheaper new iPod which plays movies and games, there is new nano took the appearance of the old mini, and the exciting tiny silver shuffle with clip. I guess all I whish for now is an flip iPod with bigger screen and combined with internet and phone with bluetooth ear-pod.
Of course the new iTune 7 has transformed from a simple music media player into a great toy of a real online media store, digital jukebox and free download albumart. But before a safer and more complete market really exist, we can only purchase the common media in the country where your account registred, which I found very inconvenience.
Yeah. Did I mention the iTV? Mr. Jobs is going to release a new wireless media box connect your flat TV screen to your computer and online iTune store. You can sit on your sofa with a remote to view every media from your computer and purchase from internet. And greatest thing is that the iTV box will realse in early 2007 with an afordable price of 299 USD (tax not included).
And I can't wait the system to replace all hard copy of CD and DVD, that we can finally get more free space and less packaging waste in our living environment. And maybe, we all going to consume all media via virtual system that no more illegal copies ruin our author right.
OK. Some people here might aware of future jobless situation if you earn your living with any products might disappear in the next few years. Now it's time for you to learn new tricks and find a new job.
Also if you haven't make out your mind for the Christmas present. Here is the link to see Steve Jobs' latest announcement video (if you have 30 minutes):
It's Showtime
And this is for Mr. Jobs or Apple engineers:
Where is the iTablet ?
The Jacket
Just watched The Jacket again. I still find Tom Bleecker's story and John Maybury 's directing are fascinating. Don't know why the writer is not writing more story of this kind, and don't know why the director has to wait 3 long years to make another film. But one thing for sure is that this film is one of the most successful independent movies from Warner Brothers. Brian Eno's composed music was every corner of the film when your heart most needed. Andy Tubman's "Quiet inside" and David Arnold & Iggy Pop's version of "We Have All the Time In the World" (Louis Armstrong) was really well selected for the ending credit. And again, the independent movie's soundtrack is nowhere to find.
Sure you can't miss Adrien Brody's heart breaking performance as always. It's hard to find the better cast to play someone in such misery but him. Wondering when he finally get opportunity to gain some weight. I also really like Jennifer Jason Leigh in here, cause beside her great acting, she's rare actress "heathly" dealing with her aging reality. We see also the next not very charming Bond Daniel Craig plays a drug addict pretend or not pretend to be a psychy loser. That I can't say I'm looking forward to see his "Bond 22" (2008) but sure I'll like to see him in "I, Lucifer" soon.
Brief. I always find the dead but not really, time travel kind story very interesting. And to have more movies like so, we should also support more independent filmmakers.
